67,760 Reasons to Visit Hebron: Dan’s Lights Outshines Them All
If you think that Clark Griswald set the standard for Christmas Light displays, wait until you witness Dan’s Lights.
Do yourself a favor and take a drive up to 664 Buckfield Road in Hebron and you will witness on of Maine’s most awe-inspiring and magical holiday light displays!
This was created almost entirely by one Maine man with an endless love for the holiday season and you can see that very clearly in his whimsical display.
Get this, Dan has been stinging these lights since he was a junior in high school back in 1998.
He lit up Winter Street in Auburn for years and his largest display then reached 12,000 bulbs.
But now that he is in Hebron, his lights have reached more than five times what his Auburn set up was at 67,760 lights.
Yes, he puts up each strand himself, with help from his family and kiddos for the tallest trees.
This display isn’t just massive, it’s truly meaningful. His theme centers on Christmas trees, simply because of what they represent. He keeps Santa out, focusing more on the birth of Christ.
One of the most powerful features is the glowing heart with a piano inside of it, which is a tribute to his mother who taught piano lessons.
That is the very first decoration he sets up each year and it glows from dusk 'til dawn starting on October 16th, the day she passed away.
