One of Maine most popular seafood restaurants took on a whole new challenge recently.

The fine purveyors of Eventide Oyster Company got a very unique opportunity to show off their skills on a national television. The Dan Patrick Show, a daily syndicated sports show, invited them on to be the official cooks for their latest "Meat Friday" segment.

It all came together after Patrick was eating at Eventide a few weeks ago. He was approached by Taylor, one of the sous chefs at Eventide. A big fan of the show, Taylor told Patrick that he would love to get Eventide to participate on a "Meat Friday."

The "Meat Friday" segment is one of the more popular spots for the Dan Patrick Show every week. It's a way for chefs, pit-masters, and restaurants to show off their beautiful pounds of delicious protein.

It took just a few weeks for Eventide to hear back, and it was a go. So, Andrew, Lars, Taylor, and Jared from Eventide all made the trip down to Connecticut to prepare a feast.

Well, that looks like it was a deliciously fun time.

Eventide did not disappoint. The boys put out quite a spread for Dan and the Danettes. The menu included Maine oysters, smoked lobster, lobster rolls, tuna crudo, smoked mussels, pastrami rolls, and more. Clearly, the Eventide boys were there to showcase their dynamic food.

I'm sure there's even more people who are trying to get there for the first time, especially after this aired. Eventide normally has quite a long wait, so make sure all you debutantes call ahead.

There is relief for some, because Eventide has opened a second location. That second shop can be found right in the heart of Boston on Boylston Street.

Congrats to Eventide on this amazing experience. Way to represent Maine strong.
