Everyone knows that things are way more expensive these days, from a pair of shoes to utilities to that bag of chips or candy at a convenience store.

But what's even more annoying is that there don't seem to be enough places to grab a "deal" anymore. Once upon a time, every town in Maine had that place with crazy specials where you could eat for cheap.

Believe it or not, even in these times of wild inflation, there's a handful of Maine towns that still do.

Nine different small towns in Maine are home to AE Robinson Country Cafes. These convenience store cafes operate like a mix between Subway and Amato's. For some of the towns where these country cafes exist, they are one of the only places to grab some quality takeout food.

But while the offerings might look the same, it's the prices that feel like a little bit of a throwback. AE Robinson cafes offer a variety of different burgers, all priced under five bucks. A simple cheeseburger will cost you less than four dollars.

There are other great deals at the country cafes as well. For instance, a breakfast sandwich featuring bacon, ham, or sausage will only cost you $3.50. You can grab a full-sized club sandwich for under six bucks.

You'll find these AE Robinson Country Cafes in Brownville, Corinna, Corinth, Dexter, Dover-Foxcroft, Guilford, Monson, Pittsfield, and St. Albans.
