You Can Play ‘Jaws’ Pinball Inside a Shark Cage at This New Hampshire Arcade
When you walk into Funspot in Laconia, New Hampshire, the largest arcade in the world, you'll see a new addition to their pinball machine lineup that will make you do a double take.
If you've never been to Funspot, you are missing out on one of the most fantastic video arcades in the world. Whether you grew up in the '80s when quarters were being pumped into games like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders, or in the '90s playing ticket redemption games hoping to win a prize, Funspot has it all.
One thing that Funspot lacked for some time was a good selection of working pinball machines. They had many classics from the '90s like Fun House and Addams Family, and classics from the '80s, '70s, and '60s as well, but they were often in pretty poor shape. Unlike video games, pinball has a lot of moving parts that constantly need cleaning and repair.
That's all changed now that Funspot has opened Pinball Outpost, an area dedicated solely to the silver ball. The entrance looks like something you'd see getting in line at Disney World.
Inside by the door is one of the most recent games released by Stern Pinball, Jaws.
The game is super fun, but Funspot took it one step further and put Jaws in an actual shark cage. For that extra feel of immersion, a shark video is projected above you while you're playing. This is pretty impressive stuff!
Jason Knapp of Knapp Arcade, a pinball news website, shared these photos on his Facebook page. Look above the cage and you'll see the shark video projection.
The whole experience of Funspot is worth the trip to Laconia.
