Two Great Portland Businesses Are Coming Together and Opening Soon
If you love Cherished Possessions and Bayou Kitchen, you'll love Cherished Possessions and Pub with Bayou Kitchen 2.
Samuel Eakin is the president of Cherished Possessions, a concession shop in North Deering. And they are transforming. According to the Phoenix, they will add a pub and partner with a Portland tradition, Bayou Kitchen.
It's a lot of things coming together! It's Cherished Possessions, a pub, diner, and breakfast and lunch modeled after Bayou Kitchen in Woodfords Corner.
The new Cherished Pub will use some of the super cool furnishings from Cherished Possessions in the remodel. It will be able to seat 40 and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So the breakfast and lunch will use the recipes and name of Bayou on Deering Ave. Of course, they got the permission.
They will serve the Bayou Kitchen food from 6 am until 2 pm. Then in the afternoon, the pub will have drinks and a menu with Louisiana fare, because Samuel Eakin is from Louisiana.
They are renovating the place, and this has been a dream of Samuel's for years. He actually thought of the combination of pub and diner in 2020. Then Covid hit, and it was three years later that plans were drawn up on what it would look like. He told the Phoenix back in May that he
...envisions both indoor and outdoor space, garden space, live music, and a beer garden stemming from the pub “in the long run.”
At a City Council meeting almost a year ago, Councilor Roberto Rodriguez, who lives in the neighborhood, said this was “exactly what Allen’s Corner and the neighborhood needs.” Yeah, it is! I don't live anywhere near there and I want it!
