18 Terrifying Haunted Attractions in Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts

With the exception of a very few people, everyone seems to love 'spooky season'.

When we say that, obviously, we are talking about that period of time between Labor Day and November 1st.  Yes, we know that Halloween is on October 31st, but the season is too fun to just limit to one day, right?

While the holiday mostly focused on kids back in the 80s and 90s it has become more and more adult over the last few decades.

In addition to nearly every bar and nightclub throwing a Halloween party, we are seeing more and more haunted attractions.  Back in the day we would have called these haunted houses, but these days they go way beyond that.  Now, these haunted attractions take over trails, old factories, ski areas, and even amusement parks.

As you can see, we dug deep to find the best haunted attractions throughout our part of New England.  We made sure that, no matter where you are, one of these attractions is not far.

Maineiac Manor in the Bangor Mall is one of our favorites because, at least in the past, they have done a Holiday version of the haunt to coincide with Christmas.  Canobie Lake Park's Screeemfest is one of a kind, too.  And, we always love the United Volunteers of Maine haunted house in Augusta because it gives local nonprofits a chance to raise money for their organizations.
