Happy Birthday New Hampshire!
The Granite State turns 229 years young, this week!
According to the NHDOT's Facebook page, New Hampshire is celebrating quite the milestone today. It was 229 years ago, June 21st, 1788, that the Granite State joined the union.
According to Wikipedia, in June 1788 New Hampshire was the ninth state to ratify the Constitution, bringing that document into effect. At that point, the Constitution became the law of the land.
The historic signing happened in the state's capital, Concord...on the grounds of what would later become Walker Elementary school.
I'm proud to say that's where I went to school!
Happy Birthday, New Hampshire.
