If you buy 24-packs of Hannaford brand bottled water, you may notice something different about the packaging. Something that just made things a lot easier for me.

As many people here in Maine do, we buy a 24-pack of Hannaford bottled water about once a week. There's really nothing wrong with our tap water, it's more for convenience and I even refill a lot of the bottles I drink from the tap. These bad boys are heavy and awkward though so I always have a cart to push them out to the car.

These also can take up a lot of space in the refrigerator, so I usually place the entire package on the top shelf. It keeps them all neatly organized.

The only issue is the packaging. It's made of sturdy plastic, which by design, is difficult to pull apart to get the bottles inside without ripping the plastic to shreds. I usually cut it with scissors and that does okay, but it's not very convenient and still doesn't make access to the bottles as easy as I would like.

Last week I noticed something on the latest package I picked up at Hannaford that I had never seen before. On the short edge of the package, there was a perforated line running on all three sides of the package. I gave it a poke at the entire side of the package came off easily. Now the bottles were easy to grab in the fridge!

This is the game-changer I'm talking about. It's like when Oreo cookies started having that opening on the top of the package that is resealable or when frozen vegetables started coming in microwaveable packages to steam. My life has changed! Thank you Hannaford!
