Hadlock Field is the 1st Professional Sports Venue in Maine With Private Space for Breastfeeding Moms

Hadlock Field, home of the Portland Sea Dogs in Portland, Maine just made history. They are the very first professional sporting venue in the state to have a designated private space for breastfeeding mothers.

This is an incredibly accommodating move that should truly be the norm and not the exception in public family-friendly places.

It should be stressed, however, that it is not illegal for a momma to breastfeed her baby in public. Whether that be in the mall, at a restaurant, or during a Sea Dogs game. This addition is simply for those who wish to feed their baby in private and not have to use the restroom.

Think about it, would you want to eat your park hot dogs and beer in the bathroom? I don’t think so.

The law is as follows;

§4634. Right to breast-feed
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a person may breastfeed that person's baby in any location, public or private, where the person is otherwise authorized to be.

Thank you Portland Sea Dogs for this incredible addition to the breastfeeding shed from Tuff Shed. And no worries, the shed will accommodate the ever-changing Maine weather with a heater and air conditioner.
