Business is a tricky thing. It takes a mix of hard work and good luck to find success. For some businesses in Maine, the end of the road came in 2016.

Each of the following examples have their own unique story as to why they shut down. Some closed shop to make way for bigger and better things. One just closed temporarily, and plans to return in 2017. And some businesses just simply couldn't sustain, and had to close their doors for good.
