EBay Hacked, Change Your Password
Millions of EBay users could be at risk of having their data compromised after the company announced Wednesday that it was the victim of a cyber attack three months ago, according to Yahoo.com.
EBay officials are now urging as many as 145 million users to change their passwords after the hackers obtained email addresses, encrypted passwords, birth dates, mailing addresses and other information in an attack carried out between late February and early March.
Company officials also indicated that they have not found any evidence of unauthorized access to financial or credit card information at its PayPal payments subsidiary, which encrypts and stores its data separately, according to Yahoo.com.
