Drone Video Shows Just How Huge Westbrook’s Rock Row Will Be
Excitement has been brewing ever since the Westbrook planning board approved the development of 100 acres of the former Pike Industries quarry to transform it into a new mixed-use development.
Plans are in place for a Market Basket, Chick-Fil-A and many other retail businesses, along with office space, housing, boating in the quarry, a concert venue and several brew pubs.
It's a massive project that should see the first phase completed in a year with the opening of Market Basket in November of 2019. The entire project won't be completed until 2022.
You can get a sense of how big this project is from the concept drawings, but to really see how much space we're talking about here, you have to see the footprint from above.
A drone video posted on Rock Row's Facebook page, slowly pulls out from land bordering where Portland's Brighton Avenue becomes Westbrook's Main Street. As the drone pulls away, the size of the land seems to never end, eventually stopping and hovering over the Maine Turnpike where you can see the massive quarry and all the land surrounding it that will become Rock Row.
And this video gives you an artist rendering of what it will look like.
