Don’t Miss a Spooky Night of Drag in Bangor, Maine
Maybe I just don't get out enough, but it surprises me the lack of LGBTQ+ venues and spots in Maine. Sometimes you just want to hit the gay bar on a night out on the town, but there doesn't seem to be many options.
So, when an event like this pops up, you don't want to miss it.
Seasons in Bangor is hosting a Spooky Night of Drag on Saturday, Oct. 30 with a Halloween-themed drag show. Get in the Halloweekend spirit with a vibrant, spooky, and contagiously fun show.
There will be a costume contest and you already know those girls are going to be flexxing on everyone with their outfits, so make sure you show up strutting your best fit.
You can buy tickets in advance on Eventbrite for $10, or pay $15 at the door, so depends if you're a planner or a "wing it" kind of person.
For some of us, Bangor can be a bit of a drive, but they host some of the best shows in the state and are always worth it. I went to a brunch drag show once and I can honestly say it was one of the better starts to my mornings I've had. The energy is high, the talent unreal, the outfits lively, and you can't help but smile and dance the whole time.
There is also such a community vibe with shows like this; You all come separately with your own groups, but it's a very connected group of strangers. This could just be my personal experience with these types of shows, but it definitely adds to the positive energy. It truly feels like a judge-free, inclusive zone.
To circle back to the intro, if I am wrong about the lack of an LGBTQ+ scene in town, hit the comment section and tell me your favorite spots.
This one might throw mom and dad for a loop.
