It's the most wonderful time of the year, and the City of Portland is looking for a big Christmas tree… Your big tree.

Each year, the City of Portland lights up Monument Square with a huge, beautifully decorated tree, and they need your help. You may have one that meets their specifications in your back yard. The city's website says the "ideal tree" is one that is between 45 and 60 feet tall. It has to be a evergreen, spruce, or fir tree in Greater Portland (Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Gorham, Westbrook, Falmouth, Cumberland or Yarmouth). The tree should be easily accessible, so that city workers can come and get it (at no cost to you.)

The perfect tree will be chosen in mid-November, as per the city's website.
