I have lived in Maine practically my whole life and have spent that time wondering what the heck apartments in Portland look like inside.

Whether I’m walking to work, window shopping downtown, or grabbing a cocktail for happy hour, I can’t help but stare up at the brick buildings and wonder what’s going on in there.

I stepped foot into a friend’s Airbnb on Market Street the other day and felt like I had walked into an entirely different city. The condos and apartments were set up like a hotel with long, brightly-lit hallways with rooms on either side. When you walked into the living space, it felt like walking into a New York hotel.

Caught off guard, I needed to see more. But, you can’t just walk into stranger’s apartments or look through their windows, so I decided to check Airbnb out.
