The Maine Boutique That Was Built During Life’s Hardest Season

A fresh new boutique opened it’s door this September in Benton, and once you step inside, it’ll instantly turns your head, and your mood.  

I was able to talk with Crystal Stanley, the Owner of Cristall Boutique and her story melted my heart. It's a true success story and one that reminds us that for family, you'll do anything. 

This lovely spot located at 1288 Clinton Ave in Benton, wasn’t born from a traditional business plan. You know that we love a local Maine success story. It all began during one of the hardest seasons of owner Crystal’s life.  

At the time, Crystal was working as a preschool director, surrounded by family and a job she loved. Then, everything changed when her husband was rushed to the hospital with a life-threatening medical condition. He couldn’t work, the bills piled up, and uncertainty hit, hard.  

During those long nights, filled with faith, prayer, and lots of worry Crystal leaned into something small she had already been doing on the side, selling clothes online. It started as a side hustle and has blossomed into hope for her and her family.

Step by step, she grew and helped her family stay afloat as her husband healed.  

This Maine Boutique Was Born Out of Strength, Faith, and Family

Eventually, her online shop grew and she found the perfect brick and mortar storefront in Benton. She then learned she would be losing her preschool job due to funding cuts. 

But, instead of panicking, she saw it as a sign from the Universe to fully dig into this boutique. She took the leap, and Cristall Boutique officially opened in September. 

Crystal’s daughters and granddaughters are often part of the fun, and the boutique regularly hosts events, pop ups, and interactive experiences like their popular charm bar.

Cristall Boutique is located at 1288 Clinton Ave in Benton and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
