Rustic Overtones Are Bringing the Funk Back to Waterville, Maine
Get ready Maine, Rustic Overtones are coming back, and this one’s going to hit right in the memory zone for a lot of us.
The legendary Maine band is known for their unique sound of mixing rock, soul and funk!
According to the Facebook Event Page, they’ll take the stage on Saturday, March 28th, 8:00pm at the Waterville Opera House. This night is going to promise you a night packed with grit, funk, and unmistakable overtones energy.
If you’ve lived in Maine long enough, you know that these guys are already part of your story and your memories. They have been the soundtrack to road trips, summers, and late night drives. That’s the case for me.
A Maine Band That Soundtracked Our Lives
This upcoming show follows their 2024 show at Head of Falls Park as part of the Waterville Rocks summer series, and now, they’re bringing that musical magic indoors to the Opera House.
Rustic Overtones performing live is an experience, below is a favorite from the Brooklyn Bowl, from Barry2TheB on YouTube.
For me, this announcement immediately unlocked a core memory from when I was a teen. Get this, I was deeply in love with an alt rock kid named Chase.
One summer night, I had tickets to go up in a hot air balloon which is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. But my friends, including Chase invited me to see a show at The Skinny in Portland, the Rustic Overtones. So I made the choice, out of teenage love.
I gave my balloon ticket to my sister and I went to see a band I had never heard of all for a crush. And let me tell you, that decision, to this day, was the right one. Even though Chase and I never got to be boyfriend/girlfriend, I still fell in love that night, with the Rustic Overtones.
