Patrick Dempsey's 12th annual Dempsey Challenge will be different, according to News Center Maine. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event will have to be virtual. Even though the challenge is still three months away, there is concern about people who have cancer and other ailments being exposed to the coronavirus. The report indicates that thousands of runners and walkers show up to participate.

The annual event takes place in Lewiston, Maine on September 26th and 27th, 2020. News Center Maine's Lee Nelson interviewed Dempsey, who is the founder of the Dempsey Center, in the video below about his expectations for this year. Dempsey is enthusiastic about the potential of reaching more people, who otherwise, would not be able to come to Maine.
