I am a self-admitted cosmetics junkie. I won't even try to deny it. The feeling of euphoria that I get when I walk into a place like Ulta or Sephora is what keeps me going back for another fix. I am like a kid in a candy store, except I have a credit card and can do way more damage. The addiction gets worse as I rack up points for every purchase. Those delicious points are the devil.

All of this build-up leads me to what could be anxiety-provoking news for any make-up addict who shops at the Sephora boutiques inside J.C. Penney, not the stand-alone stores. Sephora reportedly wants out of it arrangement with J.C. Penney, according to The Motley Fool. The department store, which is already facing extinction due to financial problems, is reopening some of its locations, after shutting down all 850 stores in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Sephora supposedly doesn't want to open back up until May 22nd. So, J.C. Penney is currently suing the beauty supply store "to force it to open its boutiques," as per the report.

Sephora also wants to break off from J.C. Penney completely by April 2021. If this happened, it would probably be game over for the department store, since it owes much of its foot traffic to Sephora. It also means we the customers would have to find the nearest stand-alone store, shop online, or go somewhere else like Ulta.

We'll let you know what happens.
