You know that old Ramada Inn building on 490 Pleasant Street in Lewiston?

If you’re from around here, you definitely know the one. For years, it was kind of the place to be for weddings, family parties, dancing, travelers passing through, or just that familiar hotel you’d point out as you drove by.

And like a lot of people in the neighborhood (hi, I’m one of them), I’ve been wondering for a while what was going to become of it.

Well… now we know.

According to KS Hospitality Group | Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Lewiston press release, the building is officially reopening as the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Lewiston, under new ownership from KS Hospitality, led by Kanvar Singh.

And before anything flashy or “grand opening” worthy happened, they actually did the behind the scenes work first with updating fire systems, electrical, and bringing everything up to code.

I was able to grab some shots of the construction driving by recently, below.

More than $500,000 went into those safety improvements alone, working with the city. Long-term investment is expected to top $3 million through 2026.

There’s also a new restaurant inside called Maine Grill, which will feature elevated pub-style food with Maine ingredients, the kind of menu that feels familiar but a little upgraded.

The official ribbon cutting is set for June 18th at 11:30 a.m.

After the grand opening will be a private evening celebration for invited guests.

But what stands out most is this feels like more than just a hotel reopening, it’s a familiar Lewiston spot and it's getting a second life! With new jobs and a fresh purpose in a really great part of town.

And honestly… for anyone who grew up seeing that Ramada sign, it’s kind of nice to finally see what comes next.
