Two years after we first heard about the floating tall ship restaurant in Boston Harbor, Tall Ship has officially opened – and they couldn't have picked a better name, if you ask me.

The Tall Ship Boston was first slated to open in the summer of 2019, so we can't blame COVID-19 for this one. Whatever their reasons were, the grand opening didn't come around until June 30, 2021. But it all seems worth the wait.

The gorgeous 245-foot floating restaurant is moored at Pier One in East Boston and the views of the city skyline and Boston harbor are definitely worth the drive.

If dining literally on the water isn't for you, there are plenty of amazing spots on the shore as well. The Navy Yard Harbor Group not only opened the boat for dining and drinks, they constructed an entire 40,000-square foot waterfront space that offers every fun every fun summer dining experience you can think of.

Not only can you dig into delicious (and super fresh) seafood aboard the tall ship, you can also hear live entertainment, lounge in custom-built waterside cabanas, enjoy assorted food truck vendors and even check out various pop up shops. The space sounds like an adult playground.

And the food is bound to be amazing. The group that opened The Tall Ship also runs Mija Cantina, Pier 6 and Reelhouse – all Boston restaurants that constantly get rave reviews.

If you can swing it this summer, this place sounds like a fantastic date day. I certainly hope I can get there soon because enjoying a drink or two at this custom mahogany bar while taking in the view of the harbor on a sunny summer day has just made it's way onto my summer bucket list. But be warned, reservations need to be made two weeks in advance already.
