I Was Shocked to Find Out That This Retro Diner in Maine Has Closed Its Doors Permanently
Well, I found out some sad news this morning as I was debating on where to go for breakfast. I finally decided to go to a '50s-themed restaurant in Scarborough, Maine, called Blast From the Past Too Diner. I've been once before for breakfast and had one of the best meals I had in a while.
Blast From the Past Too Diner, made you feel like you were walking right into a '50s diner. They played some of the best music from the '50s, and all the decorations and furniture really made you feel immersed. From milkshakes to meatloaf for dinner, Blast From the Past Too Diner had it all.
However, went I went to double-check their hours this morning I noticed that Google suggested that it was permanently closed. Of course, I had to investigate more into this.
Unfortunately, what Google had suggested was true. According to Blast From the Past Too Diner, the owners, after 9 years, have decided to "retire part-time and start enjoying our time before we get any older."
Blast From the Past Too closed its doors permanently on Sunday, December 18th. The owners took to their website to say "We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all our customers and employees for their loyalty and dedication throughout the years. We have been blessed with so many great employees over the years. Although we are excited about our next chapter, we are sorry that we will miss all our employees and customers."
Wondering what is going to take over that space? Well according to Blast From the Past Too's website, they have leased the building to El Rodeo. El Rodeo plans to start renovations soon and open at some point in 2023.
