Bake Maine Says Goodbye to Portland
Bake Maine has been open for three years, they’ve had sweet success in Portland but has sadly now announced they will officially close their doors on August 27th.
Sitting pretty on Washington Avenue, the news came directly from it’s owners Doug and Kristen Perry.
They shared a loving message on social media where they thanked Portland and it’s community for all of their support.
The owners said in part,
“our final day to be Wednesday 8/27, unless we sell out sooner. Please stop by and grab those last goodies, awesome sandwiches and delicious treats before we close. Remember our Wells location is still open every day 7am-3pm A GIANT “thank you” to our Portland Team that has been friendly and inviting to our wonderful guests and have run the show in our absence. This team is amazing.”
Bake Maine to Close Portland Location After Nearly Three Years
Shortly after opening, Doug and Kristen won over the community fast with their delicious homemade goodies and a little over a year after opening, they expanded to Wells.

However, in the end, the demands of running two bakeries proved to be too much and instead they are concentrating their energy on the Wells location.
But don't worry, because you can still enjoy the best croissants west of France, as one commenter put it on Facebook, right in Wells!
The Portland fans are sad to see them go, but the Perry's hope that their customers will make the trip to Wells to keep enjoying the entire Bake Maine experience.
