I Spotted This Deer in My Backyard This Morning and Suddenly She Wasn’t Alone
I woke up early this morning for my morning routine, later than I used to. Since I had a seizure back in May, I've been working from home, but work still starts before 6 a.m.
As I was getting ready and finished brushing my teeth, I saw something moving out the window. I quickly grabbed my phone and got a picture of a doe walking through my backyard. It's not the best picture, because I was getting the shot through the window screen, but there she was, walking through the yard.
This isn't the first time I've had deer in my backyard. Our property is surrounded on two sides by woods, and every year without fail, the deer use our back yard to find food or, in some cases, take a rest.
I could tell she was scouting out the area, making sure she wouldn't be bothered, and I assume she didn't see any threats at this time of day. Then out of the woods, bounding their way across the lawn, is her fawn.
That baby deer ran so fast to its mother that I thought it was going to run right past her.
The two didn't stay long, and the fawn followed its mother into the woods on the other side of my lawn and dissapeared.
Here's a video I took from 2023 of a fawn running back and forth over the lawn.
And I also had a hawk that was hunting for something in my front yard.
It's like I'm living in Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom! You kids go look that one up.
