I remember my first tattoo.
I also remember thinking that I'd waited forever to get one. Which is funny, because I was only 22 at the time. But it seemed like all my friends were getting them right after graduation. My mom made it pretty clear at the time however, that she had no interest in seeing me with tattoos. And made her point crystal clear.
So it was a few years after high school I started getting them. Now I have tons. A sleeve and a half, tats on both legs, and on my neck... Luckily, my mom has chilled out quite a bit about it. I also put a lot of thought into them, so they're not weird outdated tats that just make me look old. Well, maybe one of them does. But who cares?
I only have one tiny little Maine themed tattoo.
On my left arm, I have an extremely arty piece that's almost like stained glass or cubism, and there was a small hole in the middle of it, so I placed a tiny little state of Maine in the middle. You don't even notice it unless you're right up on it. It's just nestled right in the middle of all the color chaos.
But I decided I'd put it out there on our Facebook page, and see what people had to offer up for Maine themed tattoos. I was not disappointed in the least. In fact, I thought the variety of ideas was quite impressive. There were so many cool ideas. I'd love to steal some of them, hahaha. But I wouldn't do that. Well, probably not.
