A Slightly Smaller Great Maine Bike Swap Is Back This Weekend
If you want to participate you need to bring your bikes today or tomorrow!
This Saturday, June 26, marks the return of the Bike Swap. This year it will be at Kennedy Park in Portland from 10 a.m – 1 p.m.
Things are different this year as safety has to be taken into consideration. So, this Bike Swap will be smaller than the Great Maine Bike Swap of years past. You must pre-register if you want to sell a bike. You can find the form here.
They are also limiting the number of bikes that will be sold. And the number of people that will be in the sale area. It's free! And with most awesome things that are free, there will probably be a line, so try to respect everyone's time, needs, and space. They are going to make sure that everyone will have a chance to look around and test ride their new-to-them bikes!
Please, please, please don't bring a bike on the day of the swap - they won't be accepted. Also, there is a 5 bike limit per seller. The Bicycle Coalition of Maine does take a 15% commission from the sale price of a bike to help cover the cost of everything.
DROP OFF YOUR BIKE!
You have to drop off your bike (or bikes) at the Bike Coalition of Maine at 38 Diamond Street in Portland at one of two times:
• Thursday, June 24 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
• Friday, June 25 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
We are gonna want to get on a bike again this summer! Swap out yours and get something you've always wanted!
