Apparently that $25,000 piece of art on Woodfords Corner is bringing people to the area because in early-2019, the Woodfords neighborhood in Portland will be home to a brand New Mexican-style restaurant called Bird & Co. According to the Portland Press Herald, Bird & Co. will take over the space left behind by Abilene Restaurant and the short-lived revival of Uncle Billy's BBQ at 539 Deering Ave.

Woodfoords Corner has plenty of dining options to attract a crowd. Woodford F&B, Big Sky Bread Company and the Bayou Kitchen have all operated in the area for years with success. Bird & Co. hopes to follow suit by offering a varied menu of Mexican and Southwest American options, and a specialized kids menu for those bringing the whole family.

Their sample menu includes a wide array of tacos, that include everything from tuna poke as a filling, to fried cauliflower as well. There will be salads, tuna tartar and churros on the menu as well for those with a sweet tooth.

Bird & Co. is planning to be open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner. Expected opening date of the new restaurant is January 15th.
