It's becoming more and more popular at restaurants and bars across the U.S. It's called the 'Skip the Straw' movement. It's aimed at protecting the environment by not using plastic straws.

According to a NBC10 Boston report, the Eastern Standard restaurant in Boston has banned single-use straws and have replaced them with re-usable and recyclable, more rigid straws.  The restaurant says the cleaning process of these new straws is similar to the cleaning of restaurant silverware.

Do you think restaurants in New Hampshire and Maine should join the 'Skip the Straw' movement? Would you use a recyclable/re-usable straw?

It was last year, the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation wrote an article on how dangerous plastic straws are to marine life.
