Would You Try Deer Meat Whiskey?
I think it is fair to say that New Hampshire beats to a different drum. With a slogan like "Live Free or Die" you know they like to have no boundaries. I was born in New Hampshire so I am qualified to make that distinction.
That is why once I heard a New Hampshire Distillery was distilling something called "Deerslayer Whiskey", with even a essence of deer in it...I knew it had to be true...and it is!
Steven Grasse and Tamworth Distilling and Mercantile are getting ready to debut Deerslayer Whiskey which will be available November 14 and will taste like deer - because there's deer in it!
In a statement on their website, Grasse said,
"No matter what the world thought 2020 would be like, it's safe to say that everyone was wrong. I have been interested in the idea of using venison as flavoring agents for some time. The gaminess of the venison lends itself as a savory compliment to the sweetness of the wheat whiskey creating a truly creative carnivorous concoction."
A bottle will set you back $65 bucks and the website describes it as a surprisingly delicate-bodied whiskey flavored with the flora and fauna of New Hampshire in autumn....Specifically, venison.
The Deerslayer is crafted with three-year-old white wheat whiskey that allows the venison flavor to truly shine and distilled with slow-smoked red deer venison and seasonal ingredients including porcini mushrooms, cranberries, juniper berries, and green peppercorns.
Enjoy, and get in line fast..... pre-sales are going through the roof.
