There's no shortage of old, dilapidated buildings across the state of Maine. Most of the time, those buildings only stay standing for a short time, before either they fall down or are torn apart. And then others, like this building in Franklin County, stay standing to the point of being creepy. And that is when the ghost stories begin.

Shared by Dan Markey on Facebook, the building itself is ghoulish enough to be featured in any haunted house roll you could think of. But what people seemed to be focused on when Dan shared the photo was this; what is THAT in the middle window on the left side of the building?

Some commenters suggested curtains that had fallen into a certain shape, others suggested perhaps it was a doll or mannequin and an old wedding dress left behind. One thing that everyone seems to agree on is that it's creepy and we all want to have a closer look.

We don't have any further information on where exactly in Franklin County this house still stands. Even then, there is undoubtedly a no trespassing order involved. So for now, let's just all keep guessing what holds residence in that 2nd floor window. What do you think?
