Westbrook’s Chick-fil-A Drive-Thru Doesn’t Have a Window
Chick-fil-A in Westbrook is a different kind of fast food company and the first of its kind in Maine.
When Chick-fil-A came to Rock Row in Westbrook, it was a big deal. It was Maine's second location, but the only one in Southern Maine (the other is in Bangor). It's always, always busy - except Sundays and that's because they are closed.
After you wait in that long line that always seems to be there, order your food and go around the building. You come to not a pick-up window - but a pick-up door! That's right. Where someone comes to you, gets your money, and hands you your food.
I have never seen this before. Ever. While Alex was getting me my chicken sandwich with the Chick-fil-A sauce, I asked if I could take a picture. He was very understanding and even said,
You rarely see this, eh?
To which I responded,
I have NEVER seen this...ever!
Alex was wicked nice and said, 'Lori?' when I drove up. I'm not surprised that Chick-fil-A nationally was just ranked the best for customer service. That goes for fast food places AND sit-down restaurant chains. Oh, and it's the 8th year in a row they came in first.
I know there is controversy with Chick-fil-A. Just read an article I wrote about it back in March. But you gotta give credit where credit is due. To rank the best in customer service and have lines like that constantly? They are doing something right to keep coming out on top! I'm sure those 'door' employees are looking forward to warmer weather like no one else!
