Just steps from Main Street, this guided night paddle along the Presumpscot River offers a chance to connect with nature, reflect on the river’s cultural and ecological significance, and experience its ongoing rewilding journey.

Maine Guides Lead The Way

Led by certified Master Maine Guides, the 2.5-hour adventure includes 90 minutes of peaceful paddling under a canopy of trees. Participants will learn about the indigenous heritage of the river, highlighted by Chief Polin of the Abanakie tribe’s words, “We belong to the river, not the river to us." You'll also gain insights into local flora, fauna, and the story of the river’s revival from industrial use to natural restoration.

Ages 12 and Up and Beginner Friendly

Safety and paddling instruction will be provided by experts, and you don't need any prior canoeing experience. All gear is included, and each tour ends with a complimentary Brook Box featuring global flavors from Westbrook World Markets, showcasing international tastes from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Tours run rain or shine (except during severe weather) and are substance-free. Space is limited to 12 people per trip. The summer 2025 schedule includes several evening tours between June and August.

Proceeds from the paddle also support community access to the river through free summer paddling and BBQ events hosted by Discover Downtown Westbrook and local partners.
