The Maine Marketplace That’s Basically Etsy Come to Life
Sometimes you discover a place like this and immediately wonder how you haven’t been shopping there and obsessing over it the entire time.
That’s West & Bloom Art Collective. It’s feels like walking straight into a Pinterest board.
Honestly, the colors alone pulled me in at first. The moment you walk through the doors at 52 Main Street in Oakland it’s like a happy explosion of plants, art, creativity, handmade jewelry, and local love you didn’t know you needed.
The Best Local Art Boutiques in Maine
What makes this place special is that it’s not just another local art boutique. West & Bloom is basically a celebration of Maine and our talented our artists are.
As per the site, this lovely shop is owned by 23 year old Mckenzie West.
She’s from Winslow and is an epoxy resin artist who is obviously inspired by the beauty of nature with pieces that are unlike anything I have ever seen.
And she’s also created space for more than 30 local artists from all across the state to showcase their work.
From handmade skincare, pottery, paintings, stain glass art, herbal remedies, jewelry, I mean, they have it all. But here’s what I love to look at, the exquisite flower framing. You know, the dried flowers, pressed in frames.
This is something I didn’t know I needed to warm up my home, until now. They even host workshops, so you can actually make something like this of your own or as a gift.
This place is filled with art and local connection.
