Weekend Staycation Idea: Take An Orchard Ride In Sanford
Fall's here, and Maine wants you to get outdoors!
The Maine Outdoor Coalition is ringing in the new season with the fourteenth Great Maine Outdoor Weekend and attend events all over the state to celebrate autumn. The event, which has been extremely successful, has been expanded to a full week. This will reportedly give organizations a better window for weather rescheduling, as fall is typically unpredictable. In the last five years, the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend (GMOW) has held around 1,500 events across the state and reached more than 80,000 participants during events in September and February. This time around, you can take part in a trail ride in an orchard in Sanford.
Kaitlyn Bernard of the Appalachian Mountain Club, one of the members of the planning team said in a press release, “This week is a huge effort to get as many Mainers outside and connected to the great outdoors as possible.”
