Watch: We’re Going to Open This 27-year-Old Bottle of Coke and Drink It
Shortly after we moved into our new house in Windham, I was walking around the property to get a look at where property lines were and what was around us. I got to the back corner of our lawn, and in the bushes, something caught my eye.
Mixed among a couple of big bongs, which I did not keep, I found this.
That is an eight-ounce glass bottle of Coca-Cola that was bottled in 1996. That's right. This is a 27-year-old bottle of Coca-Cola. And not just Coca-Cola....
It's Coke Classic, the rebranding of Coca-Cola after they released "New" Coke in 1985, making everyone angry over the change from the classic formula.
This bottle is a souvenir glass bottle to commemorate the 1996 Olympics Torch Relay. This was the year that the Olympics were held in Atlanta.
I've given up on the question of why this bottle is here, if it's been sitting in the backyard since 1996, and if it was some sort of time capsule I was supposed to discover when we bought the house.
Now you're thinking to yourself, "Should I open it? Should I drink it?"
Lori and I had a classic back-and-forth like Mikey from the old Life cereal commercials.
We both decided we'd only try it if we both tried it. How was it? See for yourself.
