My friend Alan Wojcik sent me a picture of his happy daughter Abby with her new Hatchimal.

It was one of the most popular toys on the Christmas wish lists of children throughout the U.S., making it very difficult to find in stores. Hatchimals were flying off the shelves, leaving many parents worried they would disappoint their little ones. Some went to extremes to make sure their kids had this interactive toy that actually hatches from a plastic egg. Thus, a normally $50 purchase became a $250 or more bid on eBay.

Abby's mom had already warned her that she might not get a Hatchimal, because Santa couldn't keep up with the demand.

Imagine this 8-year-old's surprise on Christmas morning when Santa came through. Her reaction is priceless.
