A scary fact in Maine and New Hampshire is that heroin addiction has become a full blown epidemic. Legislatures and groups are working desperately to combat this problem with funding, treatment centers/programs, and awareness. Unfortunately, in the meantime, more people are getting addicted to heroin, and dying from overdoses daily.

Law enforcement is usually the first line of defense when it comes to cracking down on drug users, and stopping them from hurting themselves, and others. Officers in Maine and New Hampshire are on a high alert always for these situations more than ever. But, sometimes, they still get surprised. This Maine State Trooper thought he was pulling over just another speeder on 295 in Portland, but then he found out fast, that it wasn't a typical traffic stop.

If you or someone you know is struggling with drug addiction, you can get help. You are not alone.
