Update: Man’s Death Linked To Maine Wedding, Now 144 COVID-19 Cases
A second death is being linked to a wedding in Millinocket, according to the Maine CDC via WMTW. The news station is now reporting 144 people from all over Maine have COVID-19 as a result of this wedding, two of whom has died. A man from Somerset County, who was in his 70s, is reportedly the second person to die.
The news report says the virus has spread as far as Madison in Somerset County and York County. 85 of those cases are at the York County Jail, and 16 others are at Maplecrest in Madison, according to Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah via WMTW.
The wedding and reception took place on August 7th, 2020 at the Big Moose Inn in Millinocket. Witnesses say not many of the guests wore masks or followed social distancing protocol.
