There was a head-on collision this morning on County Road near the line between Westbrook and Scarborough.

According to the Portland Press Herald a dispatcher confirmed that a car and a taxi hit head on and all three people in the taxi were killed.

It happened just after 7 this morning as some roads, particularly in that area, had reports of black ice, the newspaper stated.

They had to shut down County Road. There are few details at this point, and roads have since warmed up.

Please be careful driving early in the morning. It's a tough time of year with lots of melting and refreezing and roads will be dangerous in spots.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
