This is Why Maine is Martha Stewart’s ‘Favorite Place’
We all know Martha Stewart for her DIY crafts and easy-to-follow recipes but more recently, we love her for her hysterical collaborations with Snoop Dogg.
The two icons have such great chemistry that if you simply Google “Martha Stewart”, the first follow-up Google question is, “Did Martha Stewart Date Snoop Dogg?”
The answer is no, by the way, but their commercials and product collabs are fantastic and you can be the judge on whether or not there’s some sexual tension in the air.
While Snoop Dogg may not have any personal ties to the great state of Maine, Martha Stewart has an iconic home here and actually considers Maine to be her ‘favorite place’.
Martha Stewart’s Skylands Home in Maine
Martha Stewart’s home in Maine is so legendary that it was covered in detail by Architectural Digest and was originally built in 1925 for auto executive Edsel Ford.
This is just one of many, many homes the star has and you can scroll through a list of them on her website.
Within that list is her Maine estate in Seal Harbor right outside of Acadia National Park. The iconic and historic home has a pink-granite driveway, 12 bedrooms, unbelievable landscaping, antique furniture from the Ford family, and 63-acres of gorgeous nature.
As the website shares, Stewart purchased the home in 1997 and has spent every summer here since.
Martha Stewart Loves Maine
The celebrity comes to Maine when New York gets too hot and when she needs to get away from her busy day-to-day life and just relax in a gorgeous and peaceful setting.
As The Daily Meal shares, her Maine estate is her happy place where she likes to relax, play board games, garden, cook, scope out antiques, entertain friends and family, and of course, eat seafood.
One of her viral TikToks is actually her teaching us how to easily get every part of the lobster meat out of a lobster tail without struggling.

I grew up in Maine and I didn’t even know this trick.
Our life here in Maine may feel fast-paced to us because it’s our daily life of work and play but for someone who lives outside of these state lines and comes to visit, they get to truly bask in the slow-paced, peaceful and charming safe space that Maine is.
Martha Stewart loves our state for its history, her iconic estate, Mount Desert Island, and our award-winning seafood.
There are many, many things to love about Maine and that right there is not a bad list.
