Everyone knows that Maine is a great state, for so many reasons. But of all of the cities and towns here, what's the nicest place in Maine? That's what Reader's Digest asked their readers in a recent poll, as they looked for the nicest place in all fifty states. And coming in at number one for the Pine Tree State is...Bristol!

The magazine called Bristol an "idyllic oceanfront location," they say the town has a history of going outside the community, and bringing folks in, as close as can be.

I've never had the pleasure to visit Bristol, but I'm definitely adding it to my Maine bucket list after reading this article!

Bristol is now in the running to be named "Nicest Place In America." Online voting is open until July 21st.
