I know, I know. It's still summer. But leaves on the trees are already starting the slow change to the burst of color that defines fall in Maine. We have to accept it and make the best of it. Maybe by doing some leaf peeping. But when will we see the colors at their best and brightest?

It will show you when the leaves begin to change, when they're at peak and when they're past. If you want to see the leaves in Maine at their peak, the week of October 15 is the time to get out and see them in western and southern Maine. the following week in northern Maine.
