The Line at Pier 1 Imports in South Portland Looked Like the Westbrook Chick-fil-A Opening
The line outside of Pier 1 Imports at the Maine Mall in South Portland on Tuesday was something businesses dream of seeing. In fact, it looked pretty reminiscent of a couple of months ago when Maine's second-only Chick-fil-A location opened in Rock Row in Westbrook.
This line, though, had nothing to do with fried chicken.
Hundreds waited in line for hours at the COVID Clinic at the Maine Mall
Obviously, Pier 1 Imports closed down after filing for bankruptcy due to the pandemic at the beginning of 2020. A bit poetic, one could say, that yesterday began a week-long stay by Northern Light Health at the former Pier 1 building to end the cause of the pandemic in the first place.
According to Channel 8 WMTW, hundreds of people were in line, some for at least an hour, leading up to the opening of the clinic to get vaccinated at the clinic.
The line actually extended from the front door, around the side of the building...
...and all the way out by the food court.
The clinic is offering everything that involves the COVID vaccine -- first and second dose, as well as boosters and even pediatric vaccines.
Northern Light Health's COVID clinic will remain in place for the next week, according to Channel 8 WMTW, operating on the following days and times:
- Today (12/15) and tomorrow (12/16) from 1p-7p
- Friday 12/17 from 9a-6p
- Saturday 12/18 from 12p-5p
- Monday 12/20, Tuesday 12/21, and Wednesday 12/22 from 1p-7p
