A step to alleviate a long-time issue at the Windham Mall has finally been made, and it's a game-changer that I'm proud to say I played a small part in.

Back in August, I wrote an article about how I was getting tired of getting honked at by other drivers when entering the Windham Mall from Route 302. The intersection at the end of the short road leading into the mall has been confusing to so many drivers who didn't realize how it works.

The four-way intersection at the entrance is only a 3-way stop. Cars entering from Route 302 do not have to stop, to the dismay of many drivers, like the ones that have honked, glared and flipped me off for doing what I'm supposed to do.

That original article found its way to Jay Wise at the Windham Mall and I received an email from him over the weekend:

Good Afternoon Jeff-

Someone sent me your article a few weeks back. I think you had a great idea. I’ve been thinking the same thing but didn’t know what to put on the signs.

Thank you.

Jay Wise

Windham Mall

I had given the suggestion of putting up signs under the stop signs to let drivers know that cars coming into the mall have the right of way, and that's exactly what he did.

Sign Windham Mall

There are signs in all four directions now, so drivers should be aware of how to handle this intersection now and I won't get flipped off anymore. Well, at least not for this.

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
