Teams Will Solve Puzzles And Clues In Maine’s Own ‘Amazing Race’ This Spring
Perhaps you've seen an episode of the popular reality show "The Amazing Race" and thought to yourself, "I could do that". Well, you'll finally have a chance to put your money where your mouth is because on Sunday, June 2nd, Maine will have it's very own 'amazing race' where teams will battle across the state for a grand prize.
The event is being put on by Escape Room 207, and the 'race' is set to begin in Topsham. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, you can have a team of up to 4 people and you'll receive clues that will direct you to your next destination. That clues are often puzzles, and you'll need to decode what they mean in order to get ahead of other teams. If your team is the quickest in solving all the clues, you are declared the winner.
In the case of The Amazing Maine Race, teams will be given 6 hours to complete as many clues as they can. The game itself will take people to different towns in different regions of Maine, spanning the southern and mid-coast portions of the state. Escape Room 207 lists a few requirements to play, including working transportation, a cell phone that can snap photos and comfortable shoes. They also advise you bring some snacks and hydration with you so you don't lose time grabbing those things on the run.
So what is the prize for winning? Well, that hasn't been announced yet. Escape Room 207 is waiting to see how many teams sign up for the race before determining how large the prize will be.
There is a cost per person to enter. You can find more details here.
