Sunday River is opening Saturday, November 9, and skiers and boarders are super psyched.

Spring is one of the best times to ski; sometimes you don't even need a jacket! And Sunday River really ramps up the fun activities in the Spring. For the skier, rider or spectator, the upcoming events are a blast.

Samantha was rescued by two skiers, a doctor and a nurse. But that is all she knows about the two strangers who saved her life 20 years ago.

Sunday River will offer 24-hours of skiing and snowboarding for the first annual 24-Hour Charity Challenge on March 16-17. The event benefits The River Fund, an organization that supports youth enrichment initiatives in the greater Sunday River region.

A couple from Oxford, Maine just won a ton of beer and bragging rights to one of the most exclusive and bizarre contests on Earth!

Celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season, all while raising money for a good cause with Sunday River's very own Santa Sunday.

The championship couple will win the wife's weight in beer, five times the wife's weight in cash, and a chance to compete in the World Wife Carrying Championship in Finland, next summer.

Last year by this time Sunday River was open to the public thanks to colder than usual temperatures and the incredible snow makers of the mountain. In fact,  the snowmaking team from Sunday River was named the best in North America by Ski Area Management magazine in the HKD I Am A Snowmaker contest...

The North American Wife Carrying Championship takes place at Sunday River right here in Maine every fall. Teams made up of men and women have to make their way through an obstacle course. The wife can be carried any way the team prefers, most teams use the  "Estonian carry" in  which the wife holds the husband by the waist, with her legs wrapped around his neck...
