Every year, Sweetser provides hundreds of thousands of dollars of charity care to individuals and families in need of mental health services who are either uninsured or underinsured. No one is turned away, but they can’t do it alone. The nonprofit relies on the generosity of the community to help meet the growing need.

Sweetser has started the Mental Health Matters Fund to ensure treatment is available regardless of someone’s ability to pay.

“Every Maine family deserves access to mental health care,” says Sweetser’s Senior Director of Public Relations & Advancement Justin Chenette. “Your support help fuels our mission to get treatment, support, and hope to Mainers most in need in our communities. The mental health of your friends, family, and neighbors matter. Your mental health matters.”

Sweetser is a behavioral health nonprofit that provides evidence-based treatment, support and hope through a statewide network of community-based mental health, recovery, and educational services. Last year, Sweetser served over 14,000 individuals across the state.
