Stay Healthy at Home Order May Speed Up Projects on Maine Roadways

With most people staying in their homes, the traffic has dropped drastically on Maine roadways.

And the state DOT is going to use this time to prepare for the anticipated summertime rush, according to a report from WGME 13.

This will make hours more flexible and resources more abundant, the news station states. 

In a statement from Paul Merril, a spokesperson for the Maine DOT, in the WGME article, he said, "others (projects) are facing delays because a couple of (outside) contractors are suspending work due to coronavirus concerns. Still, most of the state's springtime projects aimed at repaving roads and rehabbing bridges are continuing as planned."

I am hoping this works out for the better; It would be great to not have nearly as many potholes on the road this summer.
