The Sports Bra Maine Announces Portland Location: Here’s Where It’s Opening

The countdown is officially on. 

After months of anticipation, The Sports Bra Maine has announced where it will open its first location in the state, and it's taking over the former Noble Barbecue & Pizzeria space at 476 Stevens Avenue in Portland's Deering Center neighborhood. 

They will open in late 2026.

They shared a post on social media that said in part,  

"We are absolutely thrilled to share that The Sports Bra Maine has found its home base at 476 Stevens Ave in the vibrant, tight-knit Deering Center neighborhood."

"The countdown to opening day starts today. Thank you for being on this journey with us."

I was lucky enough to meet Ann and Emily, the owners of the Portland location, during Portland Pride, and honestly, they completely blew me away.

They mentioned that a location announcement was coming soon, and I remember walking away feeling something I didn't expect: relief. Not because Portland was getting another restaurant or sports bar, but because this felt bigger than that.

The Sports Bra represents something a lot of people have been waiting for, a place where women's sports aren't treated as secondary, where girls can walk in and see athletes who look like them celebrated on the biggest screens in the building.

This iconic spot was founded by the brilliant Jenny Nguyen in Portland, Oregon, the concept was simply built around an idea: to create a place where women's sports are the main event, not an afterthought. 

When news first broke that The Sports Bra was expanding to Maine, it immediately struck a this chord with sports fans who have wished for a space that celebrates women's athletics front and center. 

Now, that vision finally has an address! 

The location comes just after Noble Barbecue & Pizzeria closed its doors, giving new life to a well-known spot in one of Portland's busiest neighborhoods.

An opening date hasn't been announced yet, but excitement is already building. 

And judging by the reaction online, plenty of us are more then ready to pull up a chair, order food, and cheer on women's sports from a place designed specifically for them.
