Last-minute shopping and your holiday travel may have to get put on hold.

According to WMTW, a winter storm is expected to start Friday afternoon. Several inches of snow are predicted before it changes to freezing rain overnight Friday into Saturday.

Some parts of Maine could get up to 8 inches of snow, while places like Portland are expected to get up to 6 inches.

So get ready, stay safe and warm, and prepare for some classic Maine weather!
